Super Bowl 43 is the unexpected match–up between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Arizona Cardinals. I don't think too many "experts" picked these two teams at the beginning of the season. Go Cardinals!?
Stay tuned for some post–game comments.
Well, the Pittsburgh Steelers managed to narrowly defeat the Arizona Cardinals 27-23. Ben Roethlisberger connected with MVP Santonio Holmes in the corner of the end zone with 42 seconds left to play to put the Steelers ahead for good. The picture perfect pass and catch held up against an official review.
I can only imagine the disappointment felt by the Cardinals who came so close to winning their first Super Bowl in their first Super Bowl appearance. Especially since Kurt Warner connected with Larry Fitzgerald for a 64-yard touchdown pass on Arizona's previous possession, putting the Cardinals ahead 23-20. I thought for sure the Cardinals would be victorious, but unfortunately I was wrong.
The game was much more exciting and closer than I expected it to be. I figured (like most people, probably) that the Steelers would have an easy victory, and their solid defense would mean a Super Bowl blowout, but gladly I was mistaken. Halftime was another story altogether. I opted to change channels and watch ABC's Wipeout. Until next year, where hopefully the 49er's can regain their once dominant ways and be contenders in Super Bowl 44.
