THIS SITE'S PURPOSE

The site was designed by yours truly and is used as a point of contact for potential employers or anybody wanting to learn more about me. Most of the maintenance and ongoing development revolve around the Blog and Portfolio sections.

I like to think of it as online storage for some of my writing and development work. Ultimately, it provides an ideal playground to test new web technologies.

TECHNOLOGIES USED TO BUILD THIS SITE

The interface was built with lean XHTML Strict, descendant–selector–rich CSS 2, and a few sprinkles of unobtrusive JavaScript, at times utilizing the jQuery library. The blog is supported by a backend of PHP and MySQL. No WordPress, or other CMS platforms for me. I prefer to develop my website from scratch, with good old-fashioned blood, sweat, and tears.

In case you are interested each page of the site has valid XHMTL and CSS. You can check the validation yourself courtesy of the W3C's validation service by clicking on the links in the bottom right corner. Feel free to contact me if you find any errors.

MYSELF

I am currently a web developer for an electrical supply online retailer based in San Francisco, Ca. The bulk of my responsibilities center around SEO, but I tend to wear many hats and am responsible for most ongoing development, from the front-end to the back-end. This confluence of responsibilites dovetail nicely since SEO touches all aspects of a website.

In my spare time, when I am not sitting in front of my computer exploring the latest web development trends or blogging about past web design experiences, I like to be outdoors exercising and then enjoying a great meal at a good restaurant. Lately I've been into KQED's television program Check, Please! Bay Area to learn about new, nearby restaurants to try.
