WELCOME...
to my website! My name is Morgan Ney and this is my online abode. When I'm not at work or stuck commuting on BART, I try to do some blogging about my latest adventures in web design & development. If you need to contact me, or want to learn more about what I've been up to lately this is a good place to start. While you're poking around you might find some interesting articles to read in my Blog.
Web Design & Web Development
Yes, I have been known to dabble in the fine art of web design and web programming. If you are looking for some help with a project I am currently available for part-time work.
- Web Design & Web Development
- (X)HTML & Style Optimization
- Database Design & Integration
- Server-side Programming
Need to get a new website up and running? I can turn content into valid (X)HTML and design into well executed CSS. If you want to employ some DOM scripting or Ajax then no problem, JavaScript with the jQuery libarary makes it easy. I always use SEO methods throughout development, strategically integrating targeted keywords to maximize search engine results.

This is usually necessary when you want to upgrade an old <table>–based layout to a CSS-based layout. I can simplify the code to boost performance and accessibility while maintaining the look and feel of the site's original interface. It won't be long before realizing reduced maintenance costs and easier upgrades. Bye bye unncessary <table>'s, its been swell but your time has come.

A database is a great way to store and later retrieve information from a dynamic website. Some common database storage elements are blog entries, e–commerce transactions, photo albums, and customer details to name just a few. I can design an efficient database that maximizes speed and performance by minimizing redundancy. With a well structured database your reporting knows no bounds. My database of choice is MySQL.

This usually goes hand-in-hand with database design & integration but not always. However, if you have a database you'd like to use on your website then server-side programming is necessary. Server-side programming is useful for form validation, user authentication, or managing sessions and shopping carts amongst other things. PHP is my preferred server-side language, but I have also worked with Servlets & JSP.
